  1. Download and install Tailscale for your device
  2. Open the app and sign in with your email
  3. Click your Sacred Invitation Link (sent via Signal) to join the Temple network
  4. Keep Tailscale connected when accessing Temple services

Disappearing Messages

Messages that automatically delete after being read leave no trace. This is one of the most powerful privacy features available.

  1. Open any Signal conversation
  2. Tap the contact name at the top
  3. Select Disappearing Messages
  4. Choose your timer: 4 hours or 24 hours recommended

Pro tip: Set a default timer for all new conversations in Settings > Privacy > Default Timer

Use "Note to Self" for Storage

Signal's Note to Self chat is a secure place to store information you need to remember. It's encrypted and stays only on your device.

  1. In Signal, tap New Message
  2. Search for "Note to Self" and select it
  3. Use this chat to store order details, tracking info, or anything you need
  4. Enable Disappearing Messages here too for extra privacy

Important: Avoid saving sensitive information in regular notes apps, screenshots, or cloud services. Keep everything within Signal.

Signal Privacy Settings

These settings harden Signal against various threats. Take a few minutes to configure them.

  1. Screen Lock: Settings > Privacy > Screen Lock (requires PIN/biometric to open Signal)
  2. Registration Lock: Settings > Account > Registration Lock (prevents account theft)
  3. Relay Calls: Settings > Privacy > Advanced > Always Relay Calls (hides your IP)
  4. Typing Indicators: Settings > Privacy > Turn off if you prefer
  5. Read Receipts: Settings > Privacy > Turn off if you prefer

Device Protection

  1. Use a strong passcode (6+ digits) or biometric lock
  2. Enable auto-lock after 1-2 minutes of inactivity
  3. Keep your operating system updated for security patches
  4. Disable lock screen notifications for Signal (prevents message previews)

Advanced: Consider using a dedicated device for Temple communications - an old phone works perfectly.

Mindful Practices

  1. No screenshots of conversations or order details
  2. Don't share Temple links or information outside Signal
  3. Use code words when discussing sensitive matters
  4. Clear conversations after orders are complete
  5. Trust your intuition - if something feels off, reach out to us
